Bio:
Dr. Gilberg joined the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute in 1992. Fourteen ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive fellows have trained under his guidance since 1995.
Dr. Gilberg completed his medical degree and residency at uOttawa, followed by a two-year fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
As Chair and Chief, Dr. Gilberg oversees the ophthalmology academic program at The Ottawa Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa. He holds an academic appointment as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and serves as a member of the Association of Canadian University Professors of Ophthalmology. He is presently a member and Executive Secretary of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada’s Test Committee in Ophthalmology.
