Bio:
Dr. Florido completed a two-year Fellowship in Orbit and Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Calgary. During his fellowship, he independently managed oculoplastic and orbital clinics and performed more than 1,500 oculoplastic procedures under expert supervision.
Originally from Italy, Dr. Florido graduated summa cum laude from the University of Perugia and completed his ophthalmology residency at Sapienza University of Rome with honours. During residency, he pursued additional hands-on training in oculoplastic surgery in Barcelona and subsequently obtained a Master’s degree in Facial Aesthetic Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain.
Dr. Florido has a particular interest in eyelid and ptosis surgery, orbital disease, lacrimal surgery, periocular reconstruction, anophthalmic socket management, and aesthetic periocular procedures. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, serves as a reviewer for Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (OPRS), and has presented his work at national and international meetings, including COS, ASOPRS, ESOPRS, and AAO. He remains actively involved in surgical education and clinical research within the field of oculofacial plastic surgery.
