Dr. Femida Kherani is Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia and the University of Calgary. Dr. Kherani completed her medical school and Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Alberta. She completed a two year ASOPRS Fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Kherani enjoys teaching medical students, residents and fellows. She serves on the education committee for ASOPRS as an Oral Examiner. Dr. Kherani serves on the ASOPRS International Committee. She has participated in volunteer surgical eye expeditions to India, Mexico, Pakistan and the Dominican Republic. Dr. Kherani is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). She serves as the Canadian Commissioner for the International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personal of Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO) and is the Liaison Member for the Canadian Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Kherani is on the Editorial Board for OSN and the American Academy of Ophthalmology Eyenet Publications. Dr. Kherani received the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2016. She loves her work and is committed to providing the best care for her patients.
